So far so good
January 3, 2010
"I don't know what my problem is but I am always loosing the top spring on my 03 CR250 after a hard ride. I have gone through at least 4 in the past season. I replaced the stock springs with these with hopes of not dealing with it anymore and so far they have stayed on. They are easy to install as the installation is no different from a standard spring. Just be sure to choose the correct length for your ride. The quality of this product is much better then OEM springs."

Nice upgrade
January 3, 2010
"The short story is it sounds mean as heck with the FMF powercore 2 silencer on my 03 CR250 and produces power everywhere. The long story is I have used ProCircuit, FMF fatty, stock pipes with mixed results. The bike really likes the stock pipe the best but the pipe is flat on the top and has a real short power band. The FMF fatty gave me the top but made the bottom lazy and sluggish, the Pro Circuit helped the bottom and rev'd well but I was always tinkering with the jetting. After putting on the SST (after recovering from spending the extra money) the bike ran like stock on the bottom with a nice hit, pulled hard in the mid and kept going like the FMF fatty on top. In essence this pipe is worth the price as it works like 3 pipes combined. What I mean is if you change pipes for a long track to a short track or long distance hair scrambles put the pipes away and just put on the SST. You'll have power no matter where you are. And it looks cool..."

FMF designed their pipe spring tool for simple and quick exhaust maintenance. The pipe spring tool from FMF is made from heat treated alloy steel to provide great durability.

"I am cheap so I have always used a pair of pliers to put the pipe springs on and I eventually do get them on after a few slips. However, springs went on first try with minimal effort and made the job a breeze. Sorry to say I have no experience with any other spring tools but compared to pliers this product is out of the world."

"They work great. When I put on the brakes the bike stops now. Excellent product compared the old worn out pads. At least the metal scraping sound has stopped. Thanks EBC! Great stuff"

the right way to do numbers...
September 7, 2009
"I've always been the blank back ground and then add numbers later guy. I always had problems with the numbers fitting on the background and being straight is a whole nother thing. These pre-printed backgrounds with the numbers have a nice clean professional look. The quality of the vinyl/addehisive and ink are top shelf.
My only problem was the back grounds I ordered didn't match the graphics on my bike. I must have over looked the style guide or something. However I got lucky and the combination of graphics and backgrounds (though different) makes the bike look a little more radical. So no real complaint there. I just wish I would have had the option to choose which back ground to purchase. Buyer beware.

Ring dingin 2 smoker back to life!
September 7, 2009
"Preparing for racing the Vet novice class on my 2003 CR250. Needed to freshin up the bike and chose the Wiseco priston. Nothing to report in regards to installation. Only thing to consider are the rings. Which need to be checked with a feeler gauge to ensure proper fit. Per the documenation that comes with the piston it may require some fileing of the tips of the rings to ensure proper clearance. (The last two Wesico pistons I used didn't require it though. )
Lots of compression, no dyno but feels like more power is available. Using with Cometic gasket kit, Vforce reed valves, FMF fatty pipe, FMF core 2 silencer. Other then that motor is stock. The bike pulls harder then any other combination I've used. My opinion is; short of modifiying the motor this combination of parts gets the most power out of my stock motor.
I'm very satisfied with this product.

The Pro Circuit R304 Shorty End Cap Silencer features 304 stainless steel end caps and intake tube. Extruded 6061 T-6 aluminum short housing with brushed finish. Lightweight, with high strength steel rivets and steel Allen head screws on 1 end for easy disassembly and rebuilding. The Pro Circuit 304 Factory Sound End Cap Silencer is constructed from the same materials as the Shorty End Cap Silencer. Longer aluminum housing for added top end performance. TIG & MIG welded for added strength & durability. Pro Circuit Pipes are tuned specifically for the year & make of the bike to achieve a performance gain in the areas that your stock pipe is lacking. Pro Circuit does not produce many different pipes for a single model bike, they make one pipe that performs well in all power ranges. The only difference between the Platinum & the Works pipe is the finish.

Hardware???

Does this combo come with any hardware such as the springs or o-rings? Or is it just pipe and silencer?
The combo I purchased did not have any mounting hardware, o-rings or springs. I had to use the OEM springs, gasket, o-rings, etc.

The MotoSport.com Wiseco Pro-Lite Piston Kit - 2-Stroke includes one of each of the following components with the following attributes: The Wiseco Piston Kit is not just a basic piston replacement, it is a performance piston kit that is more durable than O.E.M. pistons and includes everything necessary to rebuild your top end. Wiseco Pro-Lite Piston: Important note: This piston is for a stock sized bore. Please measure your cylinder to check clearance before ordering. Wiseco leads the performance aftermarket by producing the highest quality forged pistons in the U.S.A. Wiseco is unique because they forge all of their own pistons in-house, and produce all of their own forge tooling in the U.S.A. This allows Wiseco to control all aspects of their manufacturing process from raw bar to skirt coating on the finished parts. Wiseco Pro-Lite motorcycle pistons are forged using the highest quality materials available resulting in a piston that provides excellent performance and durability. The Wiseco Pro-Lite piston features a race-ready dome finish with smooth edges for improved combustion flow. The rings, wrist pin, and circlips are manufactured by Wiseco under their strict quality standards to make sure every piston kit fits correctly, ensuring top performance is achieved. Pro-Lite Piston features: Much stronger than stock. Tight tolerances for quiet running. More hours with peak performance between piston changes. All Pro-Lite pistons include rings, wrist pin and circlips. Extreme racing conditions demand the strength and toughness that only forged pistons can offer. Compared to cast pistons, forgings are tougher and more durable, and will stand up to the abuse that high performance motorsport applications require. Most castings are brittle, have no grain structure and tend to fail catastrophically when the material yield strength is exceeded. Forgings have condensed grain that is aligned to the features of the part, which produces higher mechanical properties, and resistance to impact and fatigue. Each forging is designed to optimize the strength-to-weight ratio, and maximize performance. Wiseco Needle Bearing: The Wiseco Needle Bearing is a high quality replacement wrist pin bearing designed to withstand the harsh demands of racing. Wiseco built their needle bearing to meet or exceed O.E.M. specifications. Cometic Top End Gasket Kit: State-of-the-art gaskets is what Cometic has been doing since its inception in 1989. This comes from their dedication to constructing gaskets for the most demanding race circuits like AMA and NASCAR. Todays lightweight engines are producing more horsepower, higher cylinder pressure, clamp load and extreme temperatures. Cometics commitment is to provide innovative, quality gaskets while maximizing your engines power and performance. Cometic meets the needs of each specific gasket by using materials to match. Even the basic top end gasket kit features different materials for each gasket. The head gasket is constructed from non-asbestos, flexible graphite that is laminated to a stainless steel core. The manifold and base gaskets are constructed from non-asbestos nitride rubber-bound fiber. Cometic also includes copper gaskets where needed. Cometic designs and builds their gaskets in the U.S.A. Note: Image is for reference only, actual Kit may vary based on contents and fitment.

What is the exact size of the standard piston?

I would consult Honda with the exact size of the standard piston for your bike year and model. However, I can say this kit replaces the OEM piston with no problems. I have a stock motor with no modifictions and only use this kit for top end rebuilds.

does the kit come with all the screws and bolts

The UFO kit I purchased several months ago did not come with any mounting hardware of any kind. I had to use the existing OEM screws and washers to mount the UFO kit.
