The R-304 Shorty silencer was developed as a full-race two-stroke silencer and was designed to increase power over stock exhaust. The compact design of the short aluminum canister offers optimum performance gains and is recommended for closed-course racing only. Hex head screws are used to secure the inlet cap and can be removed easily for quick re-packing of the silencer. 304 stainless steel intake tube. Double-walled mounting brackets. 6061 T-6 brushed aluminum housing. E-Glass internal packing for maximum packing life. Lightweight with high-strength steel rivets and steel Allen head screws securing the inlet cap for easy repacking.
"I bought this silencer for my 2007 CR 125 which I use for Hare Scrambles. It replaced the stock silencer which eventually started to sound beat up and "ratty", even with fresh packing.
Installation required a bit of shimmying to get things all in place, but it took no more than five minutes to install the silencer. The pipe seems to hold up very well to the abuse dealt by woods racing; soap, water and a sponge will restore the silencer to brand new condition. I haven't seen any dings or scratches from rocks, which I am sure have been hitting it.
The R-304 Shorty performs exactly as advertised, it increases power in the low end of the power band. The increase in power is very noticeable, and a big help for GNCC's and Hare Scrambles. If you race motocross, the regular R-304 would be a better choice for it's ability to increase power in the mid to top end.
Overall the R-304 Shorty silencer is an excellent choice for a two stroke silencer, it's lightweight, powerful, sounds great and is relatively inexpensive; and paired with the Pro Circuit Platinum pipe it works even better."

"3 months ago I decided to do some cosmetic updating on two of my bikes, an '07 CR 125, and an '11 CRF 450. Both of these bikes had considerable damage and fading on the plastics. I chose to test out two different plastic brands on the bikes, Acerbis and UFO, Acerbis outperforms UFO in every instance.
The Acerbis plastics provided a near identical match to OEM colors, every mounting hole and curve is identical to that of the OEM's. My graphics stuck very well with no issues of peeling up or poor adhesion.
After many Hare Scrambles the UFO plastic looks many years old, however the Acerbis plastic still looks presentable. The Acerbis plastic also seems much more resistant to cracking and breaking.
All in all I am extremely please with Acerbis and will buy from only them when I need new plastics."
For over 40 years, Alpinestars has produced superior motocross footwear with a paramount commitment to protection, performance and style. The Tech 3 boot represents all of this commitment with an added level of accessibility unmatched by any boot. Ideal for beginners but more than suitable for experts, the Tech 3 offers maximum value and performance at this price point. With its contoured TPU shin plate, reinforced leather rear plate and extended inside and outside guards, the Tech 3 provides some of the best external protection of any boot on the market. The internal shock-absorbing padding protects ankles, while Action leather and front / rear accordion panels allow for a great fitting boot with a low break-in time. As with all of Alpinestars motocross boots, the Tech 3 is CE certified and features replaceable soles and buckles, to ensure maximum performance for many years. The Alpinestars Tech 3 Boots are what you can expect from Alpinestars, high performance and loaded with functional features. The best feature of the Alpinestars Tech 3 Boots is the entry level price. Protection on the Tech 3 Boots are what you can expect from a company like Alpinestars. They have installed contoured shin plate protectors which have been injection-molded with high-modulus polyurethane to provide substantial impact and abrasion resistance. Alpinestars developed a patented "ankle-brace" system for the Tech 3 Boots for great ankle support. This system on the Tech 3 also provides ankle padding to reduce shock. The sole of the Alpinestars Tech 3 Boots provides a rigid platform with the contoured, tempered steel shank that has been over-injected with a dual density rubber to provide tons of grip and give you sure footing. The Tech 3 Boots have extended inside and outside plate guards to provide protection on the side and toe-box areas. The Alpinestars Tech 3 Boots have an internal plastic reinforcement placed on the inside of the boot. This reinforcement provides rigidity to the boot for support. Thick stamped suede covers this up and provides contact grip and heat resistance. The calf plate also helps out with grip, support and side contact on the Tech 3 Boots. Alpinestars uses reinforced leather up the back of the Tech 3 Boots, and their action leather on the upper section for durability. The instep flex-zone has also been stitched for additional support and durability. The Tech 3 Boots will keep you strapped in with the four high impact resistant buckles that feature memory positioning and quick release buckles. Alpinestars uses Velcro brand hook-and-loop attached to the elastic stretch PVC gaiter to seal the top of the boot and prevent water entry. Alpinestars adds plenty of comfort features to the extensive list of protection features. The Tech 3 Boots use a poly-fabric lining in addition to a multi-density EVA foam keeping your feet cozy. If you require a special foot bed Alpinestars accommodates your needs with a removable anatomic foot bed.
"The Tech 3 boots by Alpinestars should be the only option for this price point. They are relatively light, fairly comfortable and hold up to just about any punishment I can throw at them.
I bought these to use for GNCC's, as I didn't want to beat up my Tech 10's (which I use for motocross) going through the various trees, rocks, water crossings and other obstacles.
The first thing that I noticed while wearing these boots was the low break-in time, after the first hour, the boots were fully broken in. The next important feature of these boots is comfort, coming off of Alpinestars' flagship Tech 10 model, I expected the comfort levels to vary drastically, however I was soon proven wrong. The boots feel great! I love the way the boots grip my leg, which allows me to "feel" the frame of the bike much better than with other boots in this range, which translates to better riding, and better finishes.
The most important thing I was looking for in this boot is durability, the jagged rocks, tree stumps and other assorted obstacles offered by woods racing can destroy an otherwise good pair of boots. After a full season of racing, I can say that the Tech 3's exceed my expectations in the durability department. Mud, dirt, rocks, branches and water just cannot seem to penetrate the lining of the boot and get into the inside of the boot. Also, they look great too, and that never hurt anything.
My one problem with the Tech 3's is that the adjustment strap on the top buckle actually comes into the compartment of the boot itself, and if not positioned properly, can get a bit uncomfortable.
All in all, the Tech 3 boot by Alpinestars is of exceptional quality at a low price, anyone from weekend warriors to the local pro will have a hard time finding fault in this boot.
Note: Alpinestars also makes a Tech 3 AT model, standing for All Terrain. The AT has, among other features, a metal toe cap, which some off-roaders prefer to molded toe caps. I chose the regular version because I prefer the polymer toe cap."
