IRC brand worked better for me

"I pinched 4 holes in these before I through in the towel and bought another tube...an 'IRC' branded that was a bit better in quality IMHO and sold for less right here in town.
I must be getting old...i patiently struggled with tubes and tires using spoons and soap and still screwed it with the kings. Maybe they were jinxed..
all i wanted to do was swap out the thorn-resistant tube with a 'normal' tube cuz I couldnt balance the wheel with a thorn resistant tube inside.

The IRC went in first try and is still holding air.
It had better hardware than the King's and the shrader attachment to the tube seemed more robust.
I think the wall thickness and durometer specs were about the same."

SUNLINE RIM LOCK TOWER NUT KIT
Machined from aircraft grade 6061 T-6 aluminum. Closed nut design seals out mud and water, preventing corrosion. Bevel washer design seats on the rim for a positive secure fitment. Brilliant anodized finish.

"I was tired of looking at the ugly wheel-lock bolts so bought these.
Problem is, unless you run TWO counter-located wheel locks to balance out, these will incrementally with speed affect the wheel's balance because they weigh more than the nut and washer this replaces and will de-balance the factory settings.
I had problems with my DRZ400S' rear wheel balance and having this on required another 6grams of opposing balance weights that I didnt really want or have room for.
So I took it off."

"I dual-sport, and highway riding with a bill on your helmet is asking for trouble so I sprung for a cheap Bell.
Two things I didnt like:
1) Replacement lenses cost a third what the whole helmet costs. Comes with one clear lens.
2) Poor noise attenuation.

I can hear more than I like to when riding with this helmet. It does not seem to seal tight around the neck and this lets in a lot of noise that doesnt get muffled well because there's a padding gap below the ears.
The graphics are not painted on the shell. They may be a printed 'skin' that could be damaged..
-gave it three stars because its inexpensive and it does work. I would have given it four if it cost a bit less."

FMF MUFFLER PLUG
Keep all the mud and water out of your exhaust system while washing the bike. Also a gret idea when storing a bike. Fits most 2- and 4-stroke bikes.

"I'm on my third one of these...I gave one to my brother too. The flag blew off while in the pickup truck trip between house and the hills.
I have a photo with my gloved hand holding the flag out to read the "Remove Before Flight" as it was stuck into the new MRD racing header on my dizzer 400.
I just wish the eye-candy flag was of heavier material (plastic film) and was better secured.
Really, the plug is less important than the flag, imo.
lol but the plug is great when washing or stored in the rain.
Note that it wont fit a stock muff on a DRZ."

Humongous...and unbalanced

"This is a tube that is thick enough to evade thorns.
highly recommended for this, but as with most things in life, there is a caveat.
I could not make the wheel balance after installing this tube on my DRZ-400S. The amount of counter balance weight was equivalent to a 12oz bottle of beer...so where would you put that much weight on a bike wheel, and why would you want to?
Moral of this story: stay away if you want to ride at speeds greater than 60mph -or safety wire your teeth cuz they will get shook.

I gave this a three star because overall the tube is of high quality, but apparently the wall thickness varies enough that balancing the wheel assembly becomes troublesome. I would not be surprised if this was highly variable from tube to tube as well."

"Too bad I wasted the plastic hose that came with the clutch control kit.
I bought the whole shebang...control/servo, SS cable and bleeder kit.
The SS cable has a cocky look to it and it slinks right along the frame nicely and I know it wont get burnt by the heat coming off the head.
Terrific system that looks very sanitary when completed."

MAGURA BLEEDER KIT

"I bought this and the magura clutch control and SS hose.
When you break open the system you will lose most of the reddish mineral oil these operate with, unless you carefully drain catch the reservoir and hose first.
I replaced and routed the hose, controls and servo and then bled the system as the instructions described. I wasted about a half bottle of blood before I caught the groove, but all came out well. Priced about right too."

"My stock speedo was smashed so I put one of these on.
Its nice to have a tach.
This computer doesnt actually need power to run...it has its own replaceable internal watch battery.
External power is used more for the LED backlights than to power the computer. No display backlighting without external power, not a big deal if you only ride in the day as you can see the display in normal daylight.

Installing was relatively easy and universal. The plastic mount kit it comes with is flimsy so spring for the aluminum bracket kit."

Meets all necessary CE and DOT standards. This headlight has a high / low bulb and a third light, which is the European running light. High-impact plastic lens. 12V 35W/35W headlamp bulb. 12V 4W running light. Will fit virtually any motorcycle with a lighting coil.

Acerbis comes thru with the color head I want...yellow.
Would the OEM headlight (lens/reflector), that is not exactly rectangular, (tapered at bottom) fit this plastic housing?
Is the Acerbis supplied headlight similar or identical to the OEM headlight?
I'm converting to true HID 5000K at nearly half the power consumption, but triple the lumen (light) output and half the temperature.
I'll let you know how it goes...

You would need at least a couple of hundred watts (I think that is the minimum for a stator upgrade).
Most of these HID kits are 35Watt bulbs.
Since stock H4 lo/hi is 35/55 watt, then its actually less power than stock.
An HID bulb does run hot but watts are watts no matter the bulb type so temperatures will be about the same.

Aftermarket slip-on with HP gain and quiet
I am looking for a slip-on that will boost my HP & almost as quiet as my stock, which do you suggest?
There is a relationship between quiet and HP gain...you can have one or the other but not both.
If you are shopping for slip-ons by their noise ratings, look for the lowest "dB" decibel number. A 102dB muffler is loud while a 96dB muffler is much quieter but also less horsepower.
You may need to select a slip-on and a baffle tip or packing option to gain quiet and power tradeoffs.
